The Primate of all Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh has described human beings as very restless people who carry on their shoulders monumental problems of the evil one. He gave this vivid description at the Commendation Service of Songs held in honour of Mrs. Eunice Oluchukwu Ejezie, the late wife of the Venerable Stephen Ejezie, the Chief Protocol Officer, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Durumi, Abuja.

He dwelt so much on the words of Job, which states that God is great, one cannot say how great God is and cannot investigate Him. This description of Job led the Primate to raise so many posers about God. He asked, “Why do people suffer? Why do people who are almost dying refuse to die? Why do people who seem to have no ailment die suddenly?” According to him, the just shall live by faith and no man can understand why things happen the way they do.

Archbishop Okoh stated that investigations about mysteries remain inconclusive, adding that the simple answer of Prophet Habakkuk is that the just shall live by faith. Therefore, he admonished those who attended the Service of Songs to maintain their faith, without doubt or engaging in unprofitable discussions and questions. The Primate showered encomiums on the chief mourner, the Venerable Stephen Ejezie describing him as a rugged man, a phenomenon.

The Ven. Ejezie described his late wife as a jewel, a woman of peace, accommodating and hospitable to a fault and a good role model. Others also spoke glowingly about the late Eunice Ejezie who bade farewell to the world at the age of 55.
