The Bishop of Awgu/Aninri diocese the Rt Rev Dr Emmanuel Ugwu has charged all Christians to give their neighbors a second chance in all its ramifications. He gave this charge in his sermon at the order of the ceremonial for the consecration of three new Anglican Bishops at the Cathedral Church of All Saints Ughelli in Delta State.
He reiterated that no race is inferior to Gods salvation hence no people should be discriminated against with the good news.
According to the cleric, God will never give up on His own he will make them a center of attraction like the three newly consecrated Bishops accentuated to episcopacy the climax of their profession. Dr Ngwu cited profusely from the scriptures where the magnanimity of God of second chance was played up for all to see and emulate adding no diocese is an underdog in the race of the proclamation of the gospel.
He said that because the problem of spiritual short sightedness is prevalent in the church of God, second chance is a gracious repetition to give account in the church so that Christians will not abdicate their posts.
He finally called on the new Bishops not to be rash in their decisions, and always give a second chance to every worker under them.
The consecration service was glorious with people from all walks of life including the Primate of all Nigeria Most Rev Nicholas D Okoh, Arcbishops, Bishops, the clergy from different Dioceses, the executive governor of Delta state senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his entourage attending. It was a day to remember.
