The Executive governor of Delta state his excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa has described consecration as setting apart in high authority a divine honour and great responsibility.
Governor Okowa gave this description while speaking at the order of ceremonial for the consecration of three new bishops the Rt Rev Foreman Nedison bishop of Jalingo, the Rt Rev Olubunmi Adeyinka Akinlade Bishop of Ife and the Rt Rev Prof Andrew Olu Igenoza as Rector Crowther Graduate Theological seminary Abeokuta at the Cathedral Church of All Saints Ughelli Delta State.
The governor who quoted with authority from the Bible admonished the newly consecrated bishops to be steadfast and courageous in carrying out their sacerdotal duties as servant leaders.
While speaking on the state of the nation, the erudite scholar asked for fervent unceasing prayers for the Nigerian nation against the downward trend in her economy. According to him, the Church has a great responsibility to the nation and should not allow negative comments to stop her from praying for God’s intervention.
He concluded that since only God has the solution to the problems of the nation then the requests for total turnaround must be conveyed to him through his oracles.
