2024 Bishops and Wives’ Retreat Begins With Eucharistic Service

The 2024 Annual Retreat for the Bishops’ and Wives’ in the Church of Nigeria started with the Opening Service, which was held at the Bethany Chapel of the Archbishop Adebola and Mrs Oluranti Ademowo Christian Resource Centre (Faith Plaza), Bariga.

The Service of Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the Host and Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, The Rt. Rev’d Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, assisted by other clergy.

The Bishop of Lagos, Rt. Rev’d Okupevi in his sermon, focused on the retreat’s theme, “Shepherding God’s Family,” emphasizing biblical shepherd leadership in Psalm 23 and Jesus as the ultimate Shepherd were highlighted, emphasizing leaders’ roles in caring for God’s people.

Intercessory prayers, led by Venerable Taiwo Aduloju, sought an accident-free retreat and God’s guidance for the Anglican Church.

The service ended after the administration of the Body and Blood of Christ as well as the benediction.
