The Primate, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Nicholas Okoh has reminded Christians that only Jesus Christ can sanitize our land from ”rottenness” and grant true believers unprecedented testimony at difficult times.

In his address to welcome delegates to the 7th edition of the Divine Commonwealth Conference (DIVCCON) at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, the Primate says the Church is passing through tough times in all ramifications.

”All the efforts to fight insecurity and kidnapping seem to be fruitless. National Conference and religious conferences in all denominations tend toward finding a solution to the quest of healthy living and godly lifestyle seems to be an effort in futility.In this conference, we shall resolve that the one and only Man who is able and can deliver us and sanitize our land from rottenness is the Man, Jesus, the fourth man in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (Daniel 3:19-25).

He is the man that averted the impending shame and ridicule at the wedding in Cana of Galilee (John 2:1-10). ”This Man, Jesus, is able to see you through and grant you unprecedented testimony,” the Primate declared.

The Primate used the occasion of his address of welcome to advise delegates on how best to maximise the week-long conference, which promises to be a week of transformation, exposition and ministration under the power of the Holy Spirit.

”We wish to implore you not to allow any distractions during this conference; there are talks, seminars, Bible study and revival hours that are designed for your spiritual uplifting.

”Make yourself available by attending every session. You cannot afford to go back home the same way you came,” Archbishop Okoh said.

The theme of 2017 DIVCCON is ”We have the Man, Jesus” (John 5:1-11).

According to the DIVCCON Local Organising Committee (LOC), no fewer than 7,000 delegates have registered for the annual gathering as at Friday, November 10, 2017.
