The Rt. Rev. Moses Tabwaye, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Gwagwalada has described marriage as a daily creation, where the couple must work on their union on a daily basis. He added that it is not a packaged product, with ready-made solution, but a dutiful institution that requires the husband and wife to be responsible and diligent in fulfilling their roles.

Bishop Tabwaye who represented the Primate of all Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh at the Holy Solemnization of one of his drivers, Mr. Sunday Onuh who wedded Miss Patience Andrew, also described marriage as a delightful institution, where couples ought to relax and enjoy each other. He said it is not a competition for who is the head, because neither the wife nor the husband is inferior or superior to the other.

The Bishop of Gwagwalada explained that marriage is a dedicated, dignifying and decent institution; hence he charged the couple to give attention to their marriage and treat it as something that is very important. According to him, there is no perfect marriage in the whole world, because man is not perfect and therefore marriage is the union of two imperfect people.

The cleric stressed that there is no graduation in the institution of marriage and no room to back out of it. He said the Anglican Church only has order of service to join people together and not to separate them; adding that when marriage vows have been said before God, couples have no right to say that they are tired.

The Rt. Rev. Moses Tabwaye concluded that marriage is a permanent, unbreakable union and therefore there is need to commit it to God, who is the creator of marriage. He said that for there to be genuine happiness, joy and fulfilment in marriage, Jesus must be present in that union.
