The 2024 Annual Retreat for Bishops and their wives, hosted by the Diocese of Lagos at the Archbishop Adebola and Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo Christian Resource Centre (Faith Plaza) in Bariga, Lagos, kicked off with enthusiasm.
The theme, “Shepherding God’s Family,” set the tone for the event, graced by the Archbishop and Metropolitan Primate of All Nigeria, the Most Revd. Dr. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, and Mama Nigeria, Mrs. Angela Ndukuba.
The Primate and Mama Nigeria were warmly welcomed with singing and dancing by clergy wives, led by the host, The Rt. Revd Bishop Ifedola Okupevi, Mama Lagos, Mrs. Modupe Roseline Okupevi, Bishop of Lagos West, Rt. Revd. Olusola Odedeji, and the Bishop of Awori Diocese, The Rt. Revd. Johnson Atere among others.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos, The Rt. Revd Senasu Okupevi extended an official welcome, expressing warm regards on behalf of the Diocese of Lagos and the Ecclesiastical Province. He prayed for a fruitful retreat and the Holy Spirit’s guidance throughout the sessions.
In response, Primate Henry Ndukuba appreciated Bishop Okupevi as a gracious host and thanked, women’s ministry, the entire Diocese of Lagos for their warm welcome.
He shared expectations of a powerful experience in God’s presence, praying for undeniable divine presence during the retreat.
The Retreat for Bishops and their Wives, is an annual convocation of the Church of Nigeria’s house of Bishop to set the tone for each year seeking the face and direction of God for the year. The 2023 and this year’s edition has been focused on discipleship.
