2.0 THEME OF THE SYNOD
The theme of the Synod “Receive, Believe and Become” is aptly taken from John 1:12. The opening service sermon was taken by Ven. H. O. Adeniyi (Rtd) and bible study was taken by Revd Canon G. O.Oladejo. The Rt. Revd. Dr. P. R. Oludipe – the Diocesan Bishop of Ijebu Diocese preached at the Thanksgiving service.
The Synod observes with keen interest the diocesan’s critical exposition of the theme described as very apt and his averment that for “as many as received Jesus Christ to them He gave the right to become the Children of God, to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12) and for those who receive and believe Him, God loved and gave eternal life as corroborated in John 3:1 “for God so loved the world that He gave only His begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him; shall not perish but have everlasting life” thus the Theme charges all Christians to receive, believe and become His children (i.e. Christ’s children of God) to have access to eternal life in His Kingdom.
