The Service of the night of tribute was held in honor of the former Dean of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Late Most Revd Dr. MSC Anikwenwa, former Archbishop of Province II and the Retired Bishop of Awka Diocese, Church of Nigeria, who died on Monday, March 13, 2023.

The service of Songs for the night of tribute held on Tuesday 13th June at the National Christian Centre, CBD, Abuja.

The Primate of all Nigeria, The Most Revd Dr. Henry Ndukuba was in attendance with his wife Mrs. Angela Ndukuba. Also in presence was the Bishop of Gwagwalada Diocese, The Rt. Revd Moses Tabwaye who was the preacher.

In appearance were eminent personalities and captains of industries to pay their last respect for the deceased whom several called and tagged an ecclesiastical colossus with a boundless stock of grace and a generational anointing stored right inside of him.

The list of individuals that gave tribute are boundless, among others is; The Most Rev’d Nicholas D. Okoh, who is the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria, he was represented by his wife, Mrs. Nkasiobi Okoh.  The Most Revd Dr. Peter Akinola, the former Primate of the Church of Nigeria was also represented by his son, Ven Segun Akinola, Dame Virgy Etroba, Mr Peter Obi, sent in a representative. The Apu/Awkuzu Community, represented by Prof Charles Anikweza, Chief Sir Simeon Okeke, Mr Dan Okeke (son-in-law), Ohaneze Ndigbo represented by Chief Emmanuel Iwuangawu, Sir Ik Osonwa, Bible Society of Nigeria, The Grand Daughter; Ona Dan-Okeke, Ven Uche Anikwenwa who is the first and eldest child, The Dennis Memorial Grammar School Alumni.

 Bishop Tabwaye emphasized the need to be prepared for the heavenly race in his preaching. According to him, “There is heaven and there is hell, and life after death would be determined by our life here on earth”.

Meanwhile, he stated that “We must make a budget for our death and funeral”. He concluded his exhortation saying that it is important to give our lives to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

The Primate ended the service with a prayer for the entire family, friends and the church.

It was a glorious and awesome service of songs and a night of tribute. Various choiristers sang awesomely and the turnout of family, friends, and well-wishers made the occasion worthwhile.
