Delegates from 18 African countries are participating in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

With the theme “Do nothing out of selfish ambition… Consider others first” (Philippians 2:3-4), the discussions aim to develop strategies for economic growth through responsible planning, tackling corruption, and effective management of Africa’s natural resources.

Delegates from 18 African countries are participating in the meeting, including Dr. Paul Dajur, the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the sole representative from Nigeria.

“This meeting will significantly impact the church in Nigeria,” said Dr. Dajur. “We will gain valuable insights and strategies to strengthen our role in advocating for financial transparency and accountability, while also improving our financial management practices.”

The AACC, in partnership with the Council of Churches of Tanzania, has organized this meeting under the coordination of Dr. Tinashe Gumbo, Programme Executive Secretary for Economic and Ecological Justice at AACC.

The AACC hopes the meeting will foster collaboration among African churches to address public debt and corruption, ultimately promoting ethical governance and economic justice across the continent of Africa which has abundance of resources.
