The Primate of All Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh has described the ghastly motor crash and death of the former minister of state for labour, James Ocholi SAN, his wife, son and those he travelled with, as a rude shock, a national tragedy.
He made this vivid description when he paid a condolence visit to the Kado house of the minister with members of his entourage. In his message, Archbishop Okoh said that God is great and cannot be investigated, adding that the more the news of the tragedy is played on the electronic media, the more questions are asked without answers supplied and without the dead being raised.
He called on the eldest child, Aaron to stand firm and stay glued to the Almighty God who has promised never to leave nor forsake His children. The Primate called on the children left behind to never allow anybody to divide them, emphasizing that the family must be kept intact, without any infighting. He shared the harrowing experience of his father who 37 years ago, left the world suddenly for him to take care of his siblings, including a 3-month old baby. He said the same God who saw him through the vicissitudes of life will comfort and see them through. He prayed for the children individually and collectively, committing them to the unfailing hands of God. The minister’s residence was a be-hive of activities, as sympathizers, families and friends of the deceased kept on trooping in and out of the Kado house in Abuja.
The Primate was accompanied by the Bishop of Gwagwalada diocese, Rt. Rev. Moses Tabuwaye, supervising Priests of the Abuja diocese, his secretary and the director of communication for Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
