The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion has launched its own war on drug abuse and addiction. The Primate of All Nigeria, Archbishop Henry Ndukuba inaugurated the Anglican Compassion and Development Initiative’ (ACADI) saddled with the responsibility to take teachings, trainings and mass information dissemination to villages, towns and cities in collaboration with Dioceses of the Communion.
The Church of Nigeria observed with grave concern, the devastation of addiction and how families are impacted and dreams of young men and women destroyed through addiction. the Church decried how Nigeria is fast becoming a major drug hub of drug use and distribution in the world and plans to work with government agencies like the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and other organizations in curbing drug trafficking.
