“The place to get help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

This was the submission of the Rt. Rev’d Timothy Yahaya, Bishop of Kaduna Diocese, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion as he delivered a sermon on the topic, “Our help comes from the Lord.”

The Bishop noted that in these times of the COVID-19 pandemic, where hospitals are overwhelmed, several leaders are clueless on what to do, and the world is desperate for a solution, the one to turn to is the Lord, Jesus Christ, who is above every time and season.

He said, “God is able to watch over us and preserve us; therefore we should run to Him for help.”

Bishop Yahaya prayed for the Church to depend on the word of God, especially at a time like this where there is so much information and misinformation flying around. He declared that the Lord would shield and protect His people during this period of COVID-19; stating that God Almighty would never let down His guard over His children.

According to the Bishop, God has never failed, He can never fail and He would never fail, which is why He is the believer’s help in times of trouble.

The Rt. Rev’d Timothy Yahaya pointed out that Christians may face troubles on earth, but when they trust in the Lord, He would uphold them, because He promised to never leave nor forsake His children.

The Bishop of Kaduna Anglican Diocese remarked that the problem of COVID-19 is like an impossible mountain looming over the whole world, but that victory belongs to Jesus, who makes impossible things possible. Therefore, he called on all who are yet to accept Jesus Christ as Lord, to do so; declaring that may He be their help, today, tomorrow, all through this period and for the rest of their lives.
