The Primate of all Nigeria, the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh has opined that doing the will of the Father is deeply satisfying and it is the real food for the soul.
After extending all niceties at the Commendation Service for a great Educationist, Dame Adeline Uwanaka at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp Abuja, Primate Okoh dealt extensively on rest, saying that when creation was done, a day was set aside for rest.
The Primate however said that man has been restless after the fall, because of sin adding that day by day people are plotting to kill and the pulling down syndrome is evident in all the various segments of the society. According to the Primate, the heart of man is terribly wicked and God Almighty regrets creating man. He said emphatically that this is the world of sin and there is no rest.
He said that the deceased, Dame Adeline Uwanaka labored without rest because there is no rest on the earth, expatiating that believers in Christ must follow Him so as to have eternal rest. According to him, it will be disastrous not to have surety of eternal rest after dissipating so much energy on earth without rest. He said it is an incontrovertible fact that in the presence of God is eternal rest, security, peace, joy, happiness, fulfillment and glory.
The Primate recalled with nolstagic feeling that woman of substance in Delta State in the service of God, adding that she has served her generation well, she has fought a good fight and has won the race. Primate Okoh now pleaded with people to prepare to meet their God. He said it is not true that people don’t know where they are going, asking the congregation to work for the glorious place, where there is no luck, but working in the light of God only can take faithful there. It cannot be bought with money or connection, he said.
Late Dame Adeline Uwanaka was born to a noble Christian family of Chief and Lolo Josiah Uwanaka of Umunaba Isu in Uwangela Local Government Area of Imo State. Full of erudition, she was a dogged worker in the house of God and this earned her so many positions in many Churches, sponsoring so many Church programmes at home and abroad. She has a distinguished spirit when it comes to the work of God, hence her appointment as a member of Province III committee of Eminent Anglicans Resource group and a Merit Award winner of the Cathedral Church of the Advent awarded by the former Primate of all Nigeria, His Grace Archbishop Peter Jasper Akinola.
She was a pioneer Executive Board Member of Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) Abuja. She retired from the Federal Ministry of Education. She worked for God, humanity and her pet project, Solid Foundation Private Schools, Maitama Abuja till her death.
