COMMUNIQUE OF THE 3RD SESSION OF THE 11TH SYNOD, OF THE DIOCESE OF MAKURDI (ANGLICAN COMMUNION), HELD AT ALL SAINTS CATHEDRAL, MAKURDI, FROM THURSDAY 11TH- SUNDAY 14TH JULY, 2024.
PREAMBLE:
The Diocese of Makurdi (Anglican Communion) held her 3rd Session of the 11th Synod presided over by the Diocesan Bishop, The Rt. Rev’d Dr. N. N. Inyom (GJP) from 11th – 14th July, 2024 at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Makurdi on the THEME: “The Lord Shall Renew Your Strength’ Isaiah 40:30-31
COMMUNIQUE:
- Synod appreciated the Bishop, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Nathan N. Inyom(GJP) on the choice of the theme of this year’s Synod, ‘The Lord Shall Renew Your Strength’ Isaiah 40:30-31, which is very apt considering the fact that Nigerians are daily wearied by worsening security challenges and the harsh economic realities bedevilling the country.
- Synod applauded The Primate of All Nigeria, for his transformational leadership style particularly for the establishment of a National Faith Based Organization(ACADI) working against Gender Violence, Drug Abuse and Addiction in the country.
- Synod called on all Nigerians, Christians in particular, to wait patiently in faith and prayer upon the Lord for the renewal of strength in our hope for a better Nigeria, that is economically buoyant and secured.
- Synod called on Mr. President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinibu to rejig the security architecture in the country to proactively contain and stamp out all forms of criminality.
- Synod also called on the Federal Government to initiate policies and reforms aimed at alleviating the hardship and suffering of the citizenry.
6 Synod commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev’d Fr. Dr. Hyacinth.I. Alia for the giant development strides achieved and the delivery of dividends of democracy to the good people of Benue State within one year of assumption of office. - Synod also appreciated the Executive Governor of Benue State Rev’d Fr. Dr. Hyacinth I Alia for appointing our Bishop, Rt. Rev’d Dr. N. N. Inyom, the Chairman, Benue State Peace and Reconciliation Commission.
