The Rt Rev’d Prof. Dapo Asaju, the Church of Nigeria’s Bishop Theologian and bishop of Ilesha Diocese, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan.
His appointment came in recognition of his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and commitment to academic and institutional excellence.
In a congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University, Prof. T.O. Adejumo, described the appointment as a well-deserved honour, acknowledging Bishop Asaju’s profound vision and ability to inspire transformative growth within the university community.

This latest appointment comes shortly after Prof. Dapo Asaju was named Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hallmark University, Itele Ijebu, in Ogun State. His dual leadership roles further solidify his influence in shaping higher education in Nigeria.
Bishop Asaju’s remarkable track record in academia, theological balance charismatic leadership and administration positions him to make significant contributions to both institutions, fostering a legacy of excellence and innovation.
Prof. Dapo Asaju who was born on the 16 November 1961 is an academician, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ilesha, the Church of Nigeria’s Bishop Theologian, former Rector of the Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, and the former vice chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (October 1, 2015-30 September 2020).

Apart from being a Bishop, Professor Asaju, is a lecturer at the Lagos State University and he is also a member of several and academic societies, including Constitution Drafting Committee for the inauguration of Lagos West Diocese, member Theological resource Grading for GAFCON; British Society of New Testament Studies, Nigeria Association for Christian Studies, Nigeria association for bible studies, Academic staff union of Universities among others.
