The Rt. Rev. Augustine Omole, Bishop of Diocese of Sokoto has portrayed a Bishop as a man of integrity, honesty, with moral probity, of sound mind, morally sound and upright in his dealings.
He gave this description in his sermon at the Consecration of former Venerable Markus Yohanna Danbinta, as new Bishop of the Diocese of Dutse at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael, Kaduna. The ebullient speaker cited profusely so many scriptural passages and personalities, trust worthy men in the Bible to corroborate his stand on integrity. He asked the Church members and politicians to cultivate as a matter of urgency hatred for sin, immoral acts and corruption. He said the EFCC can no longer sleep because of so many cases of corruption.
He called on the new Bishop of Dutse, Rt. Rev. Markus Danbinta to be transparent and industrious in this new assignment of teaching and preaching. According to the Bishop of the Diocese of Sokoto, men are not ready to accept the infallible words of God, adding that is why the Church is ridden with problems today. He asked the new Bishop to always say the truth with his constituents, working together with his wife. He prophesied that Dutse Diocese will have a turn around in the new dispensation.
In conclusion, Bishop Omole said Nigeria is experiencing troubles and problems because man’s leadership has its limits, adding that it is only God’s leadership that has no limit. He prayed that God will turn Nigeria around. He called on Nigerians to be men and women of integrity, remain in Christ, be focused, and work for the progress of Nigeria, adding that he can see new light, new vision and peace in Nigeria.
