Christians have been admonished to shun the life of sin, as sin is the only obstacle that limits the Holy Spirit operation in the life of an individual, also sin can prevent an individual to hear from God when He speaks and can also hinder a Christian’s ability to perceive spiritual things.

This was the admonition of the primate of all Nigeria, the Most Rev. Nicholas. D Okoh, while delivering a sermon at ST. James Anglican Church, Asokoro, during the confirmation and admission of women into Women’s Guild/Mother’s Union service held on the 16th of December 2018 in Abuja.

The Primate further called on Christians to stand firm in times of crisis, stressing that most people who cannot stand their ground when been confronted with challenges of life are fair weather Christians

Primate Okoh also urges them to always praise God no matter the situation of life, adding that some Christians only praise God when good things happen to them. “Christians must imbibe the life of thanksgiving no matter what they are going through, some only thank God when the going is smooth, but when it is rough they will start to complain”.

Earlier in the service, the primate had different interaction sections with the candidates for confirmation, Girl’s /women’s Guild/ Mother’s Union to test their knowledge of the word of God before enrolling and admitting them.

The primate presented and laid hands on the candidates after they had renewed their baptismal vows during the confirmation proper, this was done after admission of the Girl’s /women’s Guild and Mother’s Union.

The president of Women’s Guild/ Mother’s Union in Nigeria, wife of the primate, Mrs Nkasiobi Okoh, Clergy men, friends and family members attended the service as over 47 candidates was enrolled for confirmation, 6 admitted into Girl’s Guild, 20 admitted into Women’s Guild and 14 admitted into Women’s Union respectively.
