Sunday, February 8, 2026 marked a historic moment in the Diocese of Amichi as activities for the 2026 edition of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Standing Committee Meeting officially commenced with the arrival of the Primate and Metropolitan, His Grace, The Most Rev’d Dr. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Angela Ndukuba (Mama Nigeria).
The Primate was warmly received at Onusologu Junction by the host Bishop of Amichi Diocese, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev’d Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor, alongside his wife, Dame Nkem Ikeakor, diocesan officials, and a large gathering of Anglican faithful who turned out in joyful celebration.
In a colourful display of pageantry, the Battalion Council of the Boys’ Brigade and the District Council of the Girls’ Brigade of Amichi Diocese escorted the Primate’s entourage to the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Amichi, amid cheers, fanfare, and wild jubilation.
Upon arrival at the Cathedral, the Primate addressed members of the Diocese who had gathered in their numbers to welcome him. He was joined by his wife, the Dean, The Most Rev’d Blessing Enyindah, and other Bishops as they inspected the guard of honour mounted by the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades.
The Primate took the Brigade members down memory lane on the history of the Boys’ Brigade, encouraging them to remain disciplined and steadfast in their faith.
Shortly after the reception, the Primate performed the official dedication of a newly completed multi-million naira Episcopal House within the Bishop’s Court, Amichi. The architectural masterpiece comprises a new Episcopal duplex, a detached Episcopal guest house, and a borehole project.
In his sermon during the dedication service, the Primate congratulated Bishop Ikeakor, his wife, and all contributors for the successful completion of the projects. He declared blessings upon all who committed resources towards the construction, proclaiming that there would be no uncompleted projects in their families.
The Primate further emphasized the importance of stewardship and excellence in ministry, noting that it is commendable for God’s ministers to demonstrate both spiritual commitment and infrastructural development within their jurisdictions. In his words, he commended Bishop Ikeakor, saying, “We are congratulating you for using the money wisely.”
In his remarks, Bishop Ikeakor expressed profound gratitude to the Primate for accepting to dedicate the projects despite his tight schedule. He also appreciated the presence of visiting Archbishops, Bishops, clergy and their wives, laity, and other dignitaries who attended the service.
Bishop Ikeakor particularly thanked members of the Diocese of Amichi for their unwavering support over the years, declaring with pride, “We are proud of you.”
The dedication service was attended by several notable personalities, including the Chancellor of the Diocese, Hon. Justice Gloria Anulude, and Chief Dr. Simon Okeke (Ochendo Amichi), among others.
The arrival of the Primate and the dedication of the Episcopal House have further heightened expectations and excitement as the Diocese of Amichi prepares to host delegates from across the Church of Nigeria for the 2026 Standing Committee Meeting.
