The Rt. Revd. Olumuyiwa Odejide Ajayi, Ph.D, was born on November 2, 1961, in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, into the family of Chief Zachariah Adebowale Ajayi and Mrs. Comfort Tejumade Ajayi. He is the fourth of five children born to his mother. His ancestral origin is traced to Igan Alade, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Bishop Ajayi encountered Jesus Christ personally and gave his life to Him on July 24, 1979, shortly after completing his WAEC examinations. His divine call into the Gospel ministry came during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year in 1985, a pivotal moment that set him on the path to a lifelong mission of service in the vineyard of Christ.

He began his academic journey with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing from Ogun State Polytechnic, now known as Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. He proceeded to study theology and ministry, earning a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) from the Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN), Bukuru. His academic pursuits also include a Master of Arts in Ethics and Philosophy and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Ethics and Philosophy, both from the University of Jos.

His ministerial formation was shaped at Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, where he studied from 1989 to 1991. He was ordained a Deacon in July 1991 and later a Priest in July 1992 in the Diocese of Osun by the Rt. Revd. Seth Oni Fagbemi (now of blessed memory).

Driven by a missionary zeal, Bishop Ajayi transferred his ministry to Northern Nigeria in 1994, where he served diligently in the Diocese of Jos. His faithful service and evangelistic impact culminated in his election and consecration as the pioneer Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of Pankshin on March 4, 2007. Since then, he has provided visionary leadership and has been instrumental in the spiritual and structural development of the Diocese.

Bishop Ajayi was first married to Dr. Mrs. Dorcas Wusa Tabitha Ajayi, who has since gone to be with the Lord. In 2020, he remarried Mrs. Magdalene Oghenekewve Ajayi, a former widow. Together, they have been blessed with a blended family of eleven (11) children and grandchildren, continuing the legacy of godliness and love in their home.

A man of deep theological insight, humility, and discipline, Bishop Olumuyiwa Odejide Ajayi stands as a pillar in the Church of Nigeria. His life and ministry exemplify unwavering dedication to evangelism, biblical ethics, and spiritual leadership, especially in regions where missionary work continues to thrive despite challenges.

He continues to serve with great compassion, integrity, and theological depth—strengthening the Church and equipping the saints for the work of the Kingdom.
