The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev’d Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba, has, on behalf of the Church, congratulated His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, on his election as the 267th Pope and Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Primate, in a letter personally signed and addressed to the new Pope, joined the global Christian community and the Roman Catholic Church in wishing the Pope a gracious tenure as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

Archbishop Ndukuba noted that Cardinal Robert Prevost’s emergence as Pope Leo XIV is a moment of great significance and joy, not only for the global Catholic community but also for many in Nigeria.

He deeply appreciated the new Pope’s historic visit to Nigeria in 2016, which demonstrated his special love and concern for Nigerians.
