“Nigeria is in crisis and it behooves the church of God to provoke leaders of thought, all in positions of authority in serious prayer and fasting for God’s intervention”. The minister of Niger Delta Mr. Gods day Orubebe said this while representing President Dr. Good luck Jonathan at the formal opening of this year’s 2nd session of the 8th synod of the Diocese of Abuja Anglican Communion held at the St James church Asokoro Abuja. Mr. Orubebe who quoted from the book of Esther said he has come to know that everything in life revolves around God, as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He said the world is empty and apart from God any other thing in life is transient, all but for a moment. He opined that all the fighting and clamoring over money is vanity and ephemeral. He said he has complete faith and confidence in God because he is the place of refuge in times of trouble. He prayed that he will see Nigeria through. He appealed to the citizenry and the church of Nigeria to take the bull by the horn and pray according to the will of God. He said it is left for the church to note the areas where the government may not have direction and cover it up in prayers, for Nigeria to move from glory to glory. Mr. Orubebe said he is confident that when the church prays without fainting, anything she asked for in prayer in his name, he will hear and respond.
