The Revd. Canon Kingsley Obuh a priest of the cathedral church of the advent life camp, Abuja has charged Christians to see themselves as ministers of Christ and ministers of the gospel.
He made this statement while representing the primate of all Nigeria, Anglican Communion Most Revd. Nicholas Okoh at the Thanksgiving service of the 2013 women conference held at Saint Matthew’s church maitama, Abuja.
He said believers are servants of Christ and the propagator of his word, stating that they are to see themselves as servants of Christ anywhere they are placed.
The cleric described a steward as one who manages the properties and affairs of another. He said one important fact about a steward is that they are not the owner of what they manage. He therefore stated that Christian stewardship is managing the affairs committed into one’s hand unto God and not man.
Canon Obuh emphasized that Christian stewardship demand that their service be to God in everything they do. He said in whatever position they find themselves, it is not by chance but God has placed them there for a purpose. He urged Christians to use their post and positions to the service of God reminding them that God the righteous judge will demand from them their works on judgment day.
He concluded by saying that qualities of a good Christian steward are faithfulness, trustworthiness, obedience, humility, respect, and fear of God. He charged all Christians to possess these qualities in other to perform their duties as stewards of God.
Expressing gratitude to God and the host church, mama primate Mrs. Nkasiobi Okoh blessed God for the success of the conference. She said the diocesan women water project will soon kick off adding that proceeds from the project will be used to help the needy, the unemployed and others who cannot afford the cost of education.
High points of the service is the thanksgiving by the wife of the Primate Mrs. Nkasiobi Okoh and the women.
