The Primate of all Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Nicholas D. Okoh has reiterated that the church does not hate people who have same sex attraction but the act adding that people who engage in it should desist from it for the stand of God remains the same. He made this statement while delivering his address at the 56th annual bible study conference of the Anglican Youth Fellowship held at the Jesus College Otukpo, Benue state.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Redeeming the Times”, the Primate enjoined youths to engage themselves in profitable ventures for according to him, an idle man is a replica of evil. He cautioned them not to disguise themselves or go naked in the name of dressing for beauty and decency is the hallmark of womanhood.
The erudite Cleric admonished the youth to disregard people who call themselves orthodox Anglicans that they have nothing to do with the Anglican Church. He appealed to them to cling unto God for the devil will want to sow bad seeds on their farm.
Archbishop Okoh maintained that it is imperative that youths do not relent in praying for the government and for peaceful coexistence to be maintained in the country. He debunked the prediction people make that Nigeria will disintegrate by 2015. He challenged youths not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs for many countries outside do not wish Nigeria well.
The Most Reverend Nicholas D. Okoh concluded by expressing his confidence on the future of the Anglican church stating that it is not in the hands of any Primate, Archbishop or Bishop but in the hands of the youths.
