Aggressive Prayer Divine Intervention Panacea To Nigerian Crisis – Prof Okoye

A cleric has said that the sad incident of youth restiveness in the society today came about because the children have nothing to learn from their fathers. The prolocutor of the church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Venerable Professor Israel Okoye said this at this year’s father’s day thanksgiving service at the Cathedral church of the Advent Lifecamp, Abuja. The guest preacher opined that fathers should know that they are the conscience of the children and the children should be able to know, and tell their fathers so. According to the erudite scholar, fathers should exhibit the kind of father that God wants them to be. He said if this is achieved the society will remain great instruments in the hands of God the creator and provider. The professor of political science said the history of life can never tell the source of salvation, adding that God in heaven opens the mind because he cares for his creatures and he must be glorified. He said the work that people do testify about them and if they refuse to accept Christ they cannot live exemplary lives. The ebullient speaker who quoted profusely from the Holy bible said to be an exemplary Christian father their life must be Christ centered and have the great spirit of God. He said parents should not go to sleep but always be on guard praying and fasting. According to him, if the spirit of God departs from the people, it is disastrous because the instrument of the warfare of God’s people is not carnal.Talking about the crisis Nigeria is facing presently Professor Okoye said children of God should come together in aggressive prayer because God can level any mountain fill any valley. The spirit of God he said can soften any mind, for they wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, spiritual forces of darkness in low and high places. He urged Nigerian fathers to be praying fathers who can stand firm and follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ adding that they must raise their children in the ways of the Lord. Venerable Israel Okoye said many homes are broken today because fathers are not available to care for their children hence their children don’t see them as fathers. He called on fathers to be good ambassadors by showing good examples in their homes and offices, and make sacrifices for their children to be good witnesses that they are good fathers. By doing so he said fathers will know the predicaments of their wives and children and won’t be a burden to them but a blessing, always looking up unto Jesus the author and finisher of their faith. The thanksgiving service was the grand finale of this year’s father’s day. The High points of this year’s programme are seminars, lectures, musical fiesta, early morning fitness exercises and health talk.
